Как сообщает компания Sophos, специализирующаяся на вопросах компьютерной безопасности, в течение суток киберпреступники разослали порядка 500 миллионов мусорных писем, в которых получателям настоятельно рекомендовалось приобрести акции некой малоизвестной компании. Спамеры использовали классическую схему Pump-and-Dump. Суть данной схемы сводится к искусственному повышению стоимости ценных бумаг путем агрессивной рекламы и последующей продаже акций по завышенным ценам. На разнице злоумышленники зарабатывают огромные деньги.



     К разосланным в начале этой недели спамерским письмам был прикреплен файл в формате PDF, в котором получателям предлагалось вложить средства в покупку акций фирмы Prime Time Stores. В письмах говорилось, что эта фирма якобы открывает магазины в Пуэрто-Рико. По данным Sophos, огромный размах спамерской кампании привел к тому, что стоимость акций Prime Time Stores возросла на 30%.
